There will be a Blessing of the Throats from the Altar at all the Masses.

The clothing shed at St. Christopher's School, 30 Benner Road, which was temporarily closed due to global effects of the pandemic, has now been reopened to the public. Accepted items are clothing, shoes, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, curtains, pillowcases and stuffed animals. With over 1,300 clothing drop-off sheds in place, St. Pauly Textile Inc. collects over 90,000 pounds of clothing every day. In 2019, the company was able to help keep over 20 million articles of clothing out of landfills, which clothed an estimated 2.5 million people worldwide.

Please stop by our church on Friday, 1/22 to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for the protection of the Unborn.

Our Lady Queen of Peace Prayer Group meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the church to pray for each other, our community, our country, and the world. This Holy Hour includes Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the Rosary, and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. On the third Wednesday of the month, the hour is offered up for priests.

Watch "They Might Be Saints" on EWTN on Thursday, January 21st at 5:30 pm. This episode will be about Mother Angelina, the Foundress of the Carmelite Sisters, and part of it was filmed at St. Sylvia!

Our next Movie Night is February 7th at 7 pm in the St. Christopher school gymnasium at 30 Benner Road. The featured film will be "Little Boy": This is a heartwarming tale of hope, love and forgiveness as a little boy tries with all his might to achieve the impossible-- end World War II to bring his father home. A great movie for middle and high schoolers! Hope to see you there!

"Remain with Me: Unpacking the Teaching of Samaritanus Bonus" will premiere on the Catholic Faith Network on Monday, January 18th at 9:30 pm and will repeat throughout the week. Our next Movie Night is Sunday, January 10th at 7:00 pm in the St. Christopher School Gym, 30 Benner Road. Our featured film is "October Baby". "October Baby" is the story of a woman named Hannah, who learns as a young adult that she is a survivor of a failed abortion attempt. She then embarks on a trip to understand the circumstances of her birth. The movie was inspired by the YouTube video chronicling the life experiences of Gianna Jensen, who is born after a failed abortion attempt. This movie is appropriate for middle schoolers and up (rated PG-13).

Please keep Fr. David in your prayers while he is on vacation visiting his family in Nigeria. During Fr. David's absence, Fr. Paul will be helping out with the Sunday Masses.

Join the Prayer for Christian Unity on January 23rd at 2:00 pm at Regina Coeli in Hyde Park. Visitors can remain in their cars and tune in to 88.5 FM on their radios.

Masses for the Solemnity of Mary are scheduled for 7:00 pm on December 31st and 9:00 am on January 1st (both in the church). Sadly, our annual Epiphany Party for all our parish volunteers cannot take place this year due to Covid-19 restrictions. A heartfelt thank you goes out to every single one of our parish volunteers who generously give of themselves throughout the year in so many ways to maintain our church, coordinate our parish programs and ministries, beautify the buildings and grounds, catechize our children, and so much more. Monday, 12/7 Vigil Mass is at 7:00 pm in the church. Tuesday, 12/8 Masses are at 7:00 am in the chapel and 9:00 am in the church.
